New album from the inimitable force that is The Wildhearts. The line up features Ginger (Vocals and guitar), C.J. (Guitar and vocals), Rich Battersby (Drums) and new bass player Scott Sorry. The album was recorded in London, Suffolk (around the time of the capture of the Suffolk Ripper) and at the most haunted place in the U.K. Tutbury Castle. The album is in keeping with the original blueprint laid down by ‘Earth Versus The Wildhearts’ and is heavy, complicated, melodic, emotional, catchy, angry, huge and classic.
The first single is ‘The Sweetest Song’ and the band will begin a full U.K. tour on the day the album is released. Confirmed dates: April 23rd – Southampton The Brook, 24th – Bristol University, 25th Cardiff Point, 28th Oxford Zodiac, 29th London Koko 30th Wolverhampton Wulfrun, May 2nd Bradford Rios, 3rd Sheffield Corporation, 4th Manchester Academy, 5th Nottingham Rock City, 7th Newcastle Academy, 8th Glasgow Cathouse, 9th Belfast Spring & Air Brakes, 10th Aberdeen Moshulu, 12th Blackpool Riffs, 13th Mansfield Town Mill, 16th Milton Keynes – Woughton Centre, 17th Leicester Charlotte – More dates and festivals to be confirmed.
In Ginger's words "We are really proud of this album. It marks what honestly feels like a fresh start in what has been an up-and-down career for the band. Gone are the drugs and alcohol problems. There is a focus and determined spirit in the band now, which we think we have captured perfectly on this album. The melodies are still there, the big choruses are still there, but the mammoth guitar riffs are back and heavier than ever. We're excited to have you along for this fresh new stage in the on-going legacy that is The Wildhearts."
